Filmmaker Danny Boyle and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin offer an inspired take on Apple's flawed, visionary founder in the new film Steve Jobs, says CBC's Eli Glasner.

When first announced, this latest film about the controversial and influential tech giant was greeted with head-scratching.

However, despite feeling contrived at times, Sorkin's script elevates arguments about hard drives and marketing into beautiful music.

This non-traditional bio-pic surrounds star Michael Fassbender with an excellent supporting cast, including Kate Winslet, Seth Rogen, Jeff Daniels and Michael Stuhlbarg.

Think of Steve Jobs as more impressionist painting than realist portrait, says Glasner.
