Canadian singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette chose music and animation to announce that she's expecting her second child with husband rapper Mario  "Souleye" Treadway.

Morrissette broke the pregnancy news to fans on Friday on her website, pointing to a YouTube video titled Souleye + Ever + me + love = sweetness.

"The story of my nuclear family in moving pictures, brings us up to this sweet moment," she writes in the video's introduction.

Morrissette, 41, and Treadway, 35, married in 2010 and have a five-year-old son, Ever Imre Morissette-Treadway.

The animation by Brendan Huza, released Friday, included this scene of the singer, with her husband and son, at an ultrasound appointment. (YouTube)

New imagery was added to Morrissette's song Into a King, released in 2011 to mark the couple's wedding anniversary.

There are several scenes depicting the family of three, including one of them looking at ultrasound photos of Ever's unborn sibling.

"May this song take on ever-deepening meaning as each year goes by," the singer writes on her website.
