Marvel's Ant-Man debuts in teaser trailer
Paul Rudd stars as the unlikeliest Avenger yet
Comic book fans got their first normal-sized look at the newest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe last night with a teaser trailer for Ant-Man.
The trailer, which runs for a little under two minutes, introduces Scott Lang, played by Paul Rudd, a convicted criminal who is offered the chance to become a superhero by donning a suit that allows him to shrink to near-microscopic size.
Michael Douglas also makes an appearance as Dr. Hank Pym, the scientist who developed the bizarre Ant-Man suit. Corey Stoll and Evangeline Lilly also show up briefly, playing Yellowjacket and Pym's daughter Hope Van Dyne, respectively.

The trailer debuted Tuesday night during the ABC premiere of Marvel's Agent Carter, which stars Hayley Atwell as the titular 1940s spy Peggy Carter previously seen in 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger.
Marvel has had some cheeky fun in the lead-up to the full trailer's release. They launched a shrunken, 100-pixel teaser video on Friday, and released a poster showing what looked like an ant-sized Rudd on a blank, white background.
Ant-Man is scheduled to hit theatres on July 17, only a month after the second Avengers film, Age of Ultron, which will feature characters more familiar to movie-going Marvel fans such as Iron Man and Captain America.
