Model, TV host and cookbook author Chrissy Teigen her Grammy-winning husband John Legend announced the arrival of their baby girl Luna on Sunday.

Grammy-winning singer John Legend and model Chrissy Teigen have welcomed a baby girl named Luna Simone Stephens.

Legend's real surname is Stephens. The couple announced the birth of their first child on social media Sunday. Their daughter was born Thursday.

"She's here!" Teigen, who is also a TV personality and fledgling cookbook author, posted online alongside a snapshot of the baby's birth weight.

"Luna Simone Stephens, we are so in love with you! And sleepy. Very sleepy."

The new mother, known for her cheeky sense of humour, also made a quip about her husband's health.

The 37-year-old R&B star Legend and 30-year-old model Teigen were married in 2013.

The couple announced the pregnancy in October after Teigen opened up about their fertility struggle and how she had undergone IVF treatments.

"Our new love is here!" Legend posted on Twitter. "We couldn't be happier!"
