With two Emmy Award telecasts under his belt, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel is now heading to the Oscars.

The Academy Awards show producers have tapped the Jimmy Kimmel Live star to MC Hollywood's annual celebration of cinema. This is his first time hosting the show.

Comedian Chris Rock hosted the last ceremony back in February.

Kimmel — known for his biting humour, easygoing personality and the star-studded skits from his late-night show — hosted this year's Emmy Awards, his second time hosting the television awards after his debut attempt in 2012.

He's also been the face of other celebrations, including the American Music Awards and the ESPYs.

The 89th Academy Awards will take place Feb. 26, 2017 and air live on ABC, Kimmel's home network.
