Canadian actor Kiefer Sutherland will perform at the TD Toronto Jazz Festival in June.

Organizers say Sutherland will perform music from his forthcoming debut country album, Down In A Hole, at the Horseshoe Tavern on June 27.

Sutherland is working on the album with longtime music partner Jude Cole.

In a statement, the former 24 star says the 11 songs are pulled from his own experiences.

He adds there's "something very satisfying about being able to look back" on his life, the "good times and bad," and express it through music.

"To be invited to play [the Toronto Jazz Festival] was an honour," Sutherland said. "Not to mention it's my hometown and I can't tell you how excited I am to be a part of it."

The Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner recently announced a U.S. tour for the new music.
