Hillary Clinton email reveals TV picks: Parks and Rec, The Good Wife
Among flood of correspondence released is query on broadcast times of TV shows
Enjoy kicking back with a cup of tea and catching up on a smart TV show set in the world of politics? So does Hillary Clinton apparently.
The State Department has been posting thousands of pages of correspondences from the former U.S. secretary of state and Democratic presidential hopeful.
Among the notes released Monday night was a lighter, January 2010 email to aide Monica Hanley asking for the broadcast times for NBC's municipal politics comedy Parks and Recreation and CBS' legal and gubernatorial drama The Good Wife.
Clinton herself has been referenced on the recently concluded Parks and Rec by star Amy Pohler's upbeat and hardworking bureaucrat Leslie Knope, who kept a portrait of the former secretary of state on her wall.
In an interview following the show's finale, co-creator Michael Schur admitted that Clinton was one of the dream guest stars who they never landed.
In the show's seventh season, which concluded in February, Clinton "became impossible once we jumped to 2017," the year the next U.S. president will be inaugurated.
"We would've had to have answered a question that she probably wouldn't have wanted us to even post at this point," Schur told HitFix in March.
