'Ferris Bueller' house on the market for $1.5M
House known for Ferrari crash scene in classic John Hughes film Ferris Bueller's Day Off
The iconic mid-century home of fictional character Cameron Frye in the classic 1986 film Ferris Bueller's Day Off is once again back on the market. But, this time, the reduced price might be right for a film buff with a padded pocketbook.
The four-bedroom, four-bathroom, metal and glass house in Chicago's upscale Highland Park neighbourhood has a price tag of $1.5 million US.
"The Rose House" first went on the market for $2.3 million when the original owner died in 2009, but it failed to sell and the the price has dropped considerably.
The house is best known for the scene when Ferris Bueller's best friend Frye bucked against his father's oppressive manner by literally kicking his father's vintage Ferrari off a jack and though the floor to ceiling glass in the home's pavilion.
