Female video game-changers
Video game design is dominated by men, but when efforts are made to recruit women designers, it leads to the creation of a very different kind of game. Deana Sumanac reports.
An initiative called the Difference Engine is trying to make the video game industry more diverse and generally cooler by acting as an "incubator" for innovative game development.
Most video games are designed by white males, but with the help of the Difference Engine, a group of Ontario women have built prototypes for games that are completely different from the status quo.
CBC's Deana Sumanac talks to some of the women behind these game-changing projects.
