Eugene and Dan Levy are having a great week.

Schitt's Creek, the new series they co-created and star in, premieres tonight on CBC Television at 9 p.m. ET.

And they received word Monday that it's already been renewed for a second season.

It's the first time the father and son duo have worked together — a proud papa moment for the older Levy.

In an interview with CBC News Network's Jennifer Hall, he revealed, "We've come a long way in three years since this young man came up to me and said, 'Hey, do you want to work on a show?'"

"I felt it was an OK time now to go to my dad and really collaborate on something, because I felt like I have sort of you know, figured myself out," said his son, Dan.

The series also marks a small-screen reunion for Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara since their days on sketch comedy show SCTV.

"The project was kind of a scary prospect for her, but she kind of ended up trusting me," said Levy.

Watch the interview for more, including how the dynamic duo convinced CBC brass to go with the name of the show.
