Drake-Future collaboration What a Time to Be Alive debuts at No. 1
Collaboration is second No. 1 album of 2015 for each rapper
Drake has racked up his second No. 1 album for 2015, with the Toronto rapper once again sitting atop the Billboard 200 chart – this time for his joint mixtape What a Time to Be Alive with Atlanta colleague Future.
Amid rumours this summer that the regular collaborators were working on a collaborative project, the duo unveiled What a Time to Be Alive as a surprise release on Sept. 20.
In the week since, the album has rocketed to the top of the Billboard 200 chart, which ranks the most popular albums of the week based on different consumption metrics, including traditional album sales and streaming.
It's the second time each rapper has topped this particular chart in 2015. Drake had the highest-selling debut of the year when he unveiled If You're Reading This It's Too Late in February (also a surprise release), while Future shot to the top when he debuted Dirty Sprite 2, his third studio album, in July.
Drake's achievement pushed another of his collaborators – Toronto R&B singer The Weeknd and his album Beauty Behind the Madness – to third place. It had occupied the Billboard 200 top spot for three weeks. (Lana Del Rey's new album Honeymoon debuted in the second slot.)

What a Time to Be Alive is the fifth consecutive Drake album to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, following If You're Reading This It's Too Late, 2013's Nothing Was the Same, 2011's Take Care and 2010's Thank Me Later.
Drake's latest success caps a great month for Canadian recording artists on the Billboard's charts.
Justin Bieber saw his new single What Do You Mean debut atop the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in early September, while last week, The Weeknd's latest single The Hills debuted at No. 1 on the same chart, knocking his own summer smash hit Can't Feel My Face from the top spot.
