From Space Oddity to personas including Ziggy Stardust and the Thin White Duke, David Bowie's concerts drew on the artist's theatricality and sense of fashion. Here are some of Bowie's best-known looks on stage.

Ziggy Stardust

Bowie's onstage persona Ziggy Stardust brought androgyny to the stage, and remains one of his most popular characters.

The Thin White Duke

Bowie's 1976 Isolar tour, in support of the album Station to Station, was the first vehicle for his Thin White Duke character.

Serious Moonlight

In 1983 David Bowie took the world by storm with his Serious Moonlight tour, in support of his 15th album, Let's Dance

Live Aid

in 1985 Bowie performed at the Wembley Stadium portion of the Live Aid benefit concert, where he performed Heroes

The Glass Spider Tour was a worldwide concert tour that began in 1987, launched in support of his album Never Let Me Down

Outside

In 1996 Bowie performed a string of performances on the European Summer festivals circuit. The wardrobe for Bowie and his band on this tour was designed by famed British designer Alexander McQueen.

 In 1999 Bowie began a short concert tour featuring eight live performances and several television appearances in support of the album Hours...

Glastonbury

David Bowie's appearance at Britain's Glastonbury music festival in 2000 included a retrospective selection of his greatest hits, including Rebel Rebel and Changes

The Reality Tour

Bowie's 2004 Reality Tour was the longest tour of Bowie's career, spanning 17 countries. It proved to be his final tour before his death.
