Co-accused ready to testify against O.J. Simpson
Twomen charged alongside former football star O.J. Simpson in an armed robbery case involving sports memorabilia have told a Las Vegas court they will testify for the prosecution.
Charles Cashmore, 40, of Las Vegas agreed Monday to plead guilty to accessory to robbery — a felony that could put him in jail for five years — in adeal struck with the district attorney.
His lawyer told Las Vegas justice of the peace Joe Bonaventure Jr. that Cashmore can testify that guns were involved in the Sept. 13 confrontation with two collectors of sports memorabilia.
"He can establish who was in the room, what was said, who had guns, who didn't have guns, potentially who may have seen guns, who didn't see guns," Cashmore's lawyer Edward Miley said outside court.
A second man charged in the case, Walter Alexander, 46, of Mesa, Ariz., told the judge he would plead guilty on a charge of conspiracy to commit robbery.
Alexander and his lawyers did not say what testimony he would provide.
Simpson is facing 10 charges, including kidnapping, in connection with an armed robbery at a Las Vegas hotel.
The one-time football starhas denied guns were involved and claims some of the items taken from two memoribilia collectorsbelonged to him.
He andthree other men,Clarence (C.J.) Stewart, Michael McClinton, and Charles Ehrlich, are due in court for a preliminary hearing on Nov. 8 and 9.
All face charges of armed robbery, burglary, assault and kidnapping in connection withthe incident at the Palace Station casino hotel.

Miley said Cashmore was introduced to Simpson and the others in the group only minutes before the alleged robbery.
"He didn't know anyone. He didn't know what was going on," Miley said. "He didn't have a gun."
Hotel security videotapes showed him carrying a box from the room at the Palace Station hotel-casino.
He surrendered to authorities six days after the tapes were made public.
"I think he wishes he would have never met O.J.," Miley said.
Cashmore musttestify against Simpson and the four other men at their preliminary hearing.
Miley said he can confirm that both Alexander and McClinton were armed when they entered the room with Simpson.
Cashmore is due back in court Oct. 23.
Simpson was acquitted of murder in the 1994 killings of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ron Goldman. He was later found liable in "wrongful death" civil actions over both deaths.
Goldman's family has recently published If I Did It: Confessions of a Killer, Simpson's ghost-written account of the murders.
