DJ Calvin Harris cancels performance after car crash sends him to hospital
How Deep Is Your Love musician told by doctors to rest for a few days
Hitmaker DJ Calvin Harris was sent to hospital Friday after a car he was travelling in was involved in a crash in Los Angeles.
The How Deep Is Your Love and We Found Love producer, whose real name is Adam Wiles, was headed to Las Vegas and was being driven to the airport when it happened.
Police officer Norma Eisenman of the Los Angeles police department confirmed to CBC that Harris was travelling in an SUV when another vehicle "crossed over the line" and crashed into it.
Harris suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital. A "juvenile" from the other vehicle was ejected and rushed to hospital with a pelvic injury. Police wouldn't say who was driving the vehicle that hit Harris's SUV but did confirm alcohol was not involved.
The DJ was supposed perform at Omnia Nightclub at Caesars Palace on the Vegas Strip but was forced to cancel.
A message posted on Harris's official Facebook page early Saturday said he was "examined by doctors and told to rest for a few days."
"Adam's transport was involved in a collision this evening on the way to the airport," said the post. "As a result he will be unable to perform at Omnia tonight."
Harris is scheduled to play at the same nightclub next weekend as part of a Memorial Day lineup.
