Weather

Mainly cloudy with fog patches in the morning. The high is 31 C with the humidex at 40 C. Clear skies are expected tonight with a low of 22 C.

A heat warning is in effect for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent. Environment Canada warns that high temperatures are expected to reach the low to mid-30s with peak humidex values into the mid-40s. 

Current indications suggest hot temperatures could persist through next week. This will be the most significant heat event in the past few years.

Cyclists

 Wind becoming southwest 20 km/h late this afternoon.

Traffic alert

Riverside Drive between Lauzon Road and Riverdale Avenue will be closed for construction until December 2018.

The city said construction crews will be rebuilding the roadway with the intent of reducing driver speed and volume, while increasing safety along the scenic drive though the installation of curbs and gutters, on-road bike lanes and sidewalks, and roadway realignment.

Bridges and Tunnel

Ambassador Bridge: 15 minute delay for vehicles entering the U.S.

Windsor-Detroit Tunnel: No delays reported.

Blue Water Bridge: No delays reported.

Gas

Gas is selling from $1.19 to $1.34 in Windsor-Essex.

The Dollar

The Canadian dollar closed at 76 cents U.S. The market opens at 9:30 a.m.
