Vandals smash 7 Transit Windsor bus shelters in east end

Up to seven bus shelters had glass panels smashed out of them overnight, Transit Windsor says.

Incidents took place in city's east end in an area south of Riverside Drive and east of Lauzon Road

Windsor residents reported seeing a trail of shattered glass at several city transit stops Tuesday morning.

Vandals smashed large glass windows at seven bus shelters overnight, according to Transit Windsor officials, who are still investigating.

"At least in my time here, this is one of the biggest incidents we've had with so many in one evening," said Steve Habrun, planning manager at Transit Windsor. "I think there's a trend with all these seven at least."

All incidents took place in the east end of the city, in an area south of Riverside Drive E. and on McHugh Street, east of Lauzon Road.

Transit Windsor doesn't yet have an estimated cost of the damage.

Transit Windsor figures vandals smashed bus shelters some time between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. Tuesday.
