Windsor police just seized the largest single amount of heroin in the force's history

Police in Windsor have seized more than $100,000 in illicit drugs — including what they say is the single-largest seizure of suspected heroin in Windsor Police history — following a month-long investigation.

Police in Windsor have seized more than $100,000 in illicit drugs — including what they say is the single-largest seizure of suspected heroin in Windsor Police history — following a month-long investigation.

Officers found heroin, crystal meth, and cocaine inside a home on Aylmer Avenue during a search Tuesday night.

A 62-year-old Windsor man is facing multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of a controlled substance.

Members of the Windsor Police Service Drug and Gun Unit (DIGS) seized 176.5 grams of suspected heroin, according to a media release.

In addition to the heroin police also seized:

  • 277.3 grams of cocaine
  • 108.9 grams of crystal methamphetamine
  • 32 oxycodone tablets
  • 32 hydromorphone capsules
  • 3 digital scales
  • 2 cell phones
  • $3,790 in Canadian Currency

The total estimated street value of the drugs is $109,540​
