Visitors to Windsor's riverside will be able to enjoy the Peace Fountain at Coventry Gardens sooner than expected.

The city said that repairs to the fountain are now complete and that the riverfront attraction will be back in operation this weekend.

The Peace Fountain typically opens in time for the Victoria Day long weekend, but as a result of pump repairs due to sediment and debris, the fountain wasn't scheduled to return until July 1, 2019.

The fountain is the only international floating fountain in the world, placed in the Detroit River near Windsor's Coventry Gardens.
