Windsor hospitals receive funding increase to battle wait times

Windsor hospitals will get more funding to reduce wait times and increase access to health care, the provincial government announced Friday.

A $10.7 million increase to base funding will be shared between 18 hospitals in southwestern Ontario, according to Deb Matthews, the London North Centre MPP.

She made the announcement during a visit to London Health Sciences Centre.

Windsor Regional Hospital will receive a bump in its funding to the tune of $1,518,300. Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare will receive $48,400.

More than $4 million will be going to two London hospitals. London Health Sciences Centre will receive an increase of 2,770,400, while St. Joseph's Health Care will receive $1,515,500.
