Windsor automotive companies get federal funding
The federal government is investing $19.6 million to help advance innovation among small businesses in the automotive sector.
Economic Development Minister Navdeep Bains made the funding announcement alongside Small Business Minister Bardish Chagger at Pravala Car in Kitchener on Wednesday.
Two Windsor companies - Electromac Group and Landau Gage - will receive a portion of the cash designed to help Canadian companies develop breakthrough technology.
Electromac Group will receive up to $1.5 million, while Landau Gage gets up to $121,000.
The funding comes from the government's Automotive Supplier Innovation Program. Pravala alone will receive $9.7 million to develop a platform that provides reliable and uninterrupted Internet connectivity in vehicles.
