Festival organizers had set up virtual reality experiences, filmmaker challenges, and 18 films that were screened at the festival before their scheduled release dates.

The annual festival featured 113 films from 20 different countries — 25 per cent of which were francophone.
WIFF executive director Vincent Georgie was delighted with the turnout.
Next year`s event will run from Oct. 29 to Nov. 4.
