Tunnel bus won't operate during October closure, altered service on weeknights
Detroit-Windsor tunnel will be closed from October 20 at 8 p.m. until October 30 at 5:30 a.m.
People who take the tunnel bus to travel between Windsor and Detroit will have to find alternate arrangements when the tunnel closes for repairs starting in October.
The bus won't operate at all when the tunnel closes between October 20 and October 30 for the $21.6-million repair project.

"Due to the issue of the lack of processing facilities in Detroit at the Ambassador Bridge, it is not possible for a transit service to be provided," said Transit Windsor executive director Pat Delmore in a report to the city's transportation committee.
"Regular riders who utilize the tunnel bus daily or on a regular basis will be required to find alternative transportation during this closure."
However, Transit Windsor will offer a special events service for the Detroit Red Wings game on October 20th.
"Transit Windsor will bring any passengers attending the game to the arena using the tunnel," said Delmore.
"Following the event, all buses will return to Windsor via the Ambassador Bridge. All passengers must return to buses immediately following the game as there will be no additional service provided throughout the remainder of the evening."
The tunnel bus will not operate on the normal schedule during the Sunday-Thursday overnight closures planned from the end of October to June 2018.
For special events services "empty buses will head to Detroit using the Ambassador Bridge, pick up passengers and return to Windsor the same way," according to the report.
