Trucker charged with impaired driving after Hwy 401 crash

A Hamilton area truck driver has been charged with impaired driving after his tractor trailer crashed on Highway 401 in Lakeshore on Monday night. 

The vehicle veered off the road while heading west near County Road 27 around 11 p.m., according to the Ontario Provincial Police. 

Officers found the driver unharmed, but there was significant damage to his white tractor trailer. The investigation revealed the driver, a resident of Brant County, hit two guard rails once driving off the highway.

Police arrested the driver, 44, and charged him with impaired driving. He is expected to appear in Windsor provincial court Aug. 10.
