Transit Windsor will be rolling out its system designed to provide real-time information to riders and make buses more accessible over the next few weeks.
Bus stop signs across the city will soon carry an ID number, a phone number and a number to text. Riders will be able to use that information to find real-time information on where their bus is and when they can expect it to arrive.
The roll out will happen slowly over the next few weeks, with riders first noticing automated stop announcements and voice response systems on their buses, said Pat Delmore, the executive director of Transit Windsor.
All 112 buses and 1,200 bus stops are expected to be changed over to the new system in early 2017.
