Suspect arrested for attempted murder in downtown Windsor stabbing

Police have made an arrest following a Tuesday night stabbing in downtown Windsor that left a woman with serious injuries.

Police have made an arrest following Tuesday night's stabbing in the 100-block of Ouellette Avenue in downtown Windsor.

Authorities say 21-year-old Benjamin Carter, of Windsor, was picked up over the noon-hour on Thursday at a residence on Wellington Avenue.

The stabbing left a female victim in hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

Windsor Regional Hospital confirmed to CBC News on Wednesday the victim is in stable condition.

Carter faces the following charges:

  • attempt murder
  • assault with a weapon
  • possession of a dangerous weapon
  • breach probation (two counts)
