Teen arrested with hockey bag containing guns, bulletproof vest and fentanyl, Sarnia police say

According to authorities, the 16-year-old was picked up in the southwestern Ontario border city after being wanted for criminal harassment and failing to comply with his probation.

A 16-year-old from Sarnia, Ont., is facing more than a dozen charges after being found with guns, ammunition, a bulletproof vest and some drugs, police say.

According to authorities, he was picked up in the southwestern Ontario border city after being wanted for criminal harassment and failing to comply with his probation.

During the arrest, police say the teen had a hockey bag filled with a sawed-off shotgun, modified rifle, ammunition, an empty bulletproof vest plate carrier and more than10 grams of suspected fentanyl.

He's facing the following charges:

  • Two counts of possession of a prohibited firearm.

  • Two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm.

  • Two counts of careless storage of a firearm.

  • Tampering with a firearm serial number.

  • Unsafe storage of ammunition.

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking.

  • Three counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
