Police arrest two men carrying drugs and dozens of counterfeit $100 bills
Men found with stacks of fake bills and 0.3 grams of methamphetamine
Windsor police arrested two men carrying 96 counterfeit United States $100 bills.
Officers were alerted to the suspects after the clerk at a business near the corner of Tecumseh Road East and Lauzon Parkway around 8:30 a.m. on September 10.
About half an hour later, police received a second report of men matching the suspects' descriptions trying to use suspected counterfeit bills at a location a block away.
Officers found the two men sitting in a black Chrysler 300 along with stacks of fake bills and 0.3 grams of methamphetamine.
A 24-year-old man from Windsor and a 29-year-old from Linwood, Ont. face charges including possession of counterfeit currency, possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.
"The Windsor Police Service would like to remind all business operators to take the time to inspect cash to make every effort to determine its legitimacy, especially when dealing with higher dollar amounts," wrote Sgt. Steve Betteridge in a media release.
