The Ottawa Street Business Improvement Association says it wants to bring a bit of New Orleans to Windsor this summer.

The BIA is hosting a street festival that will bring jazz music, beignets and southern style drinks to Ottawa Street.

It's called the Bourbon St. Experience and will be held June 24 and 25.

A section of Ottawa Street will be closed between Pierre and Gladstone Avenues for the Friday and Saturday night. Restaurants and bars will open their patios up, and Ottawa Street will be fully licensed to drink alcohol.

Tickets are $10 online and $15 at the gate.

The event is 19+ Friday and Saturday nights, but the Saturday afternoon is a free family day.

This is one of two New Orleans-style events set to happen in Windsor-Essex this summer. On July 22 and 23, Amherstburg will host its own Mardi Gras festival.
