Detroit has submitted its bid to host Amazon's second headquarters, according to a tweet from billionaire Dan Gilbert, who was leading the effort.

—@cavsdanWhile the details of the bid have not yet been revealed, a companion video and website were released Thursday morning. The site touts the American city as a "global gateway to talent and resources," stating that 6,000 commuters travel from Canada each day.
Several Canadian cities have thrown their hats into the ring to host "HQ2" and the 50,000 full-time jobs the company says can be expected over the next 15 years, with an average pay of more than $100,000 U.S. annually.
