Motorcycle rider has 'life-threatening injuries' after crash near Windsor assembly plant

Witnesses at the scene tell CBC News a man was riding the motorcycle and four adults were in the minivan when they collided around 7:50 p.m. Sunday.

Windsor police are investigating a collision involving a motorcycle and minivan on Grand Marais Road East at Meldrum Road. 

Witnesses at the scene tell CBC News it happened around 7:50 p.m., when a westbound motorcycle collided with a minivan turning onto Grand Marais from Meldrum. Police, however, have yet to confirm this was in fact the case.

Police say an 'adult male' was riding the motorcycle and two adults were in the minivan, however, no other information was provided regarding anyone's identity.

Police say the driver of the motorcycle is in hospital with injuries described as "life-threatening."

Grand Marais from Central Avenue to Chrysler Centre re-opened around 2 a.m. Monday.

Police say the crash remains under investigation, and there is no decision yet on whether any charges will be laid.
