Windsor-built Pacifica sales dropped by 18%, Caravan sales up 14%

Fiat Chrysler Automotive is reporting "solid increases" for its Ram and Jeep brands for June 2019, despite less vehicles being sold during the same time period last year.

June total sales for the year topped out at 21,566.

Ram sales alone were up seven per cent from June 2018. The Jeep Wrangler set a June record, with a 21 per cent gain compared to June 2018. 

Despite June records for the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Wrangler and the Ram Heavy Duty, sales overall were down for FCA Canada by four per cent this June compared to last. 

The Windsor-built Pacifica minivan sales dropped by 18 per cent, with less than 600 sold last month. In 2018 there were 713 Pacificas sold — compared to 531 sold in June 2017. Sales of the Windsor-built Grand Caravan were up 14 per cent. 

Both brands together registered a sales increase of 6.4 per cent — about 200 vans more than last year.

FCA recently announced a relaunch of the Voyager nameplate to rebrand lower-end Pacifica models.
