With just two weeks left for would-be city council candidates to file their paperwork, Ward 6 Coun. Jo-Anne Gignac has now stepped forward for re-election.

The sitting councillor is looking to take back her seat.

She's up against Josh Jacquot who is also running in that ward.

Other incumbents officially seeking to regain their spots are Ward 1 Coun. Fred Francis, Ward 2 Coun. John Elliott, and Ward 5 Coun. Ed Sleiman.

It's unclear if incumbents Rino Bortolin, Chris Holt, Irek Kusmierczyk or Paul Borrelli will seek out their spots again. Though Ward 8 Coun. Bill Marra said he does not plan to run again.

Still, three wards stand with no candidates so far —wards three, four, and seven.
