The site for LaSalle's new Prince Andrew Public School is strategically located to take advantage of nearby amenities in a part of the municipality poised to take off.

The location near Laurier Parkway was finalized during a meeting Tuesday night.

"I don't know how you can find a better location," said Mayor Ken Antaya. "You have the Vollmer Complex there, which would ease the recreational needs of the school or expand them as you will, and just down the road, you've got Sandwich Secondary, which also had some outstanding athletic and academic facilities."

The province has already announced the funding to replace the current Prince Andrew, which sits further south on Kelly Road.

The public school board is expected to complete the project in two years.

Antaya added the school will be built in a part of the municipality where development is poised to take off.

"I think it's going to be an area that everyone is going to flock to."
