Organizers of a weekend sale of fixtures from Iona College are calling it a success.

The college property recently sold to the University of Windsor.

The property is to be demolished.

Iona College leadership didn't want the interior appointments such as walnut wainscotting and solid doors to be destroyed so a sale was held Saturday.

Lawrence Holland of Holland Auctions, says they raised $3,300 for the Iona College food bank to serve students.

Holland says most of the fixtures were sold including, wainscotting, doors, windows and one fireplace mantle.

"They were pleased," Holland said..
