Iona College is selling off everything it can before the University of Windsor demolishes the home.

The almost century-old home has woodwork, doors and other items to sell. It even plans to sell things that are still nailed down.

"There are some wonderful architectural features in the house," said Lawrence Holland, owner of Holland Auctions, who is running the sale on behalf of the college.

"Outside we have old planters, old window shutters," Holland said. "Anything you can dig out, pry, pull off the walls is up for grabs."

The sale runs from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29. The proceeds will go to a food bank to help Iona College feed needy students.

The University of Windsor purchased the 208 Sunset Ave. property with plans to demolish it in the near future.
