Hundreds of fans cheer on Memorial Cup champion Spitfires during parade
Fans are invited to watch as players and coaches carry the cup through downtown — along Ouellette Avenue from Wyandotte Street north to the riverfront.
Spits went undefeated on home ice to claim top prize in Canadian junior hockey
Hundreds of jubilant Windsor Spitfire fans lined downtown streets and packed the riverfront terrace Wednesday night in celebration of the Memorial Cup champions.
The victory parade started about 6 p.m. near Ouellette Avenue and Wyandotte Street and finished on the riverfront, where the size of the crowd swelled even more.
Fans young and old cheered on their hockey heroes, thanking them for a remarkable run on home ice, when they went undefeated in four consecutive games.
