Ford Motor Co. up next for Unifor in auto contract talks
Ford last in line for Detroit Three negotiations with autoworkers' union
Following a successful ratification of its deal with Fiat Chrysler, Unifor will now begin bargaining with Ford Motor Co., the last of the Detroit Three automakers set for contract talks with the autoworkers' union.
The union's latest deal with FCA includes two wage increases of two per cent and signing bonuses that total $12,000 over the next four years, according to Unifor.

That deal follows the pattern set with GM, securing automotive investment in Canada, Unifor president Jerry Dias said in a statement.
In its upcoming negotiations with Ford, set to begin Tuesday, the union will "accept nothing less," he said
Earlier in the bargaining process, cracks developed between Unifor local leadership when the president at Unifor's local at Ford's assembly plant in Oakville said his members would not be willing to accept the same terms negotiated between Unifor and GM.
But Chris Taylor, who represents Unifor workers at Ford's Windsor engine plants says that issue has been patched up and the union is "ready to go."
Ford Motor Co. employs 6,400 hourly workers in Canada.
