There are lots of options for taking in the results of the U.S. election on this side of the border — including at a strip club.

The Downtown Windsor BIA says nine bar and restaurant locations are hosting election nights on Tuesday, and some have special events planned.

"Downtown Windsor is the perfect place to come together for an election watch party of this scale," Chris MacLeod, chair of the DWBIA, said in a media release.

According to the BIA, one of the locations, Craft Heads Brewing, will host a comedy night "adding a lighthearted break between moments of tension."

Another location on the list is Cheetah's, a strip club on Chatham Street.

Outside of the downtown, there's least one other watch party in the city: the Bourbon Tap and Grill on Ottawa Street is the location for the Democrats Abroad watch party. CBC has contacted other BIAs to learn more about additional events.

Downtown Coun. Renaldo Agostino said the U.S. election influences communities like Windsor.

"This watch party offers our residents a unique and connected way to witness history," he said.

The DWBIA said the participating venues include:

  • Cheetah's (86 Chatham St. W.).
  • Craft Heads Brewing Co (89 University Ave. W.)
  • Eastwood's Grill & Bar (63 Riverside Dr. E.)
  • Manchester Pub (546 Ouellette Ave.)
  • On A Roll Sushi & Sliders (63 Pitt St. E.)
