Genesis G70, Hyundai Kona and Ram 1500 win top honours at Detroit auto show
First vehicle of the year award for Hyundai, company CEO says
North American Vehicle of the Year honours have gone to the 2019 Genesis G70, Hyundai Kona and the Ram 1500 at this year's North American International Auto Show.
The G70 took home the prize for top car, while the Kona (along with its electric counterpart) and Ram 1500 were recognized as utility vehicle and truck of the year respectively.
“We are especially happy to win as we were up against two great competitors,” says Hyundai NA CEO William Lee. He says it’s the first time Hyundai has won a vehicle of the year award. #NAIAS19

Last year's winners were the Honda Accord, Volvo XC60 and Lincoln Navigator.
The G70 and Kona are manufactured in South Korea, while Ram 1500 production is split between the U.S. and Mexico.
