2 people dead after boating accident in Walpole Island First Nation: OPP

Two people are dead after a boating accident on Pocket Bay in Walpole Island First Nation, according to Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). 

Police are still investigating the incident

Two people are dead after a boating accident on Pocket Bay in Walpole Island First Nation, according to Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). 

In a news release, police said they are investigating the single boat collision, which took place on Saturday around 5:55 p.m. Emergency services including the Lambton County OPP, Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Trenton, and United States Coast Guard responded to the incident. 

The victims were pronounced dead at the scene. 

OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team members are on scene helping with the investigation.
