Planned subway closures on Line 1 cancelled for this week and weekend, TTC says
Riders warned that weather conditions causing some disruptions on system Wednesday night

Toronto subway riders should be aware that planned subway closures on Line 1 have been cancelled for this week and weekend, the TTC says.
Weather conditions, meanwhile, were causing disruptions on the system on Wednesday night.
Riders were warned of delays between Vaughan and Finch subway stations due to weather related issues at Wilson Yard, the transit agency said.
As well, buses were also not stopping at Bingham Loop due to weather conditions.
Earlier on Wednesday, riders were told that they may face delays of up to 10 minutes on Line 1 and part of Line 2 between Woodbine and Kennedy stations for similar reasons. Those delays were announced on Wednesday morning but regular service has resumed.
The delays on Line 1 were due to "extreme wind and blowing snow affecting train yards," the TTC said in a post on X, formerly Twitter. Icy rail conditions were blamed for delays on Line 2, it said.
"Crews continue to do hard work in brutal conditions to get more trains out," the TTC said.
Service between Woodbine and Kennedy stations was briefly shut down Wednesday but has since resumed with the delays. Wednesday marked the second time the TTC partially shut down subway service this week due to weather conditions.
On Monday morning, service was temporarily suspended on Line 1 between Bloor-Yonge and Eglinton due to ice on the rails. Service resumed Monday afternoon.
These service disruptions come as Toronto continues to dig out from back-to-back storms that blanketed the city in snow last week.
Mayor Olivia Chow said the city is working toward making the TTC more reliable, but the "extraordinary amount" of snow that fell can cause difficulties.
"We can't control weather. We can always try to improve our service," she said at a news conference Wednesday morning.
