Police retrieve snake from 5th floor apt. Interloper now resting with Toronto Animal Services

A woman in east-end Toronto had quite a scare early this morning when she discovered a snake wriggling around her bathroom.

At around 3 a.m., the woman encountered what appears to be a ball python — though the species has not been confirmed — in the bathroom of her fifth-floor apartment on Rowena Drive.

The woman says she doesn't own any snakes and police believe it may have been in the building's drainage system and come up and into her bathroom, or may have come through the wall from another unit.

Police retrieved the snake and it's now in the care of Toronto Animal Services.
