Woman dies after being struck by vehicle in Scarborough

A 53-year-old woman died Wednesday after being hit by a vehicle in Scarborough last week, Toronto police say.

Victim was crossing road when she was hit on Lawrence Avenue East

A 53-year-old woman died Wednesday after being hit by a vehicle in Scarborough last week, Toronto police say.

Police responded to a collision call at around 3 p.m. on Oct. 19 in the Lawrence Avenue East and Marcos Boulevard area.

A 72-year-old man was driving eastbound on Lawrence Avenue East when he hit the woman who was crossing the road, police said.

The woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

In a statement Wednesday evening police said she died.

Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
