Toronto woman charged for allegedly defrauding March of Dimes of $800,000

A 50-year-old property manager for March of Dimes has been charged with defrauding the charity of $800,000.

Longtime employee faces 4 charges, police believe there might be more victims

A 50-year-old property manager for March of Dimes has been charged with defrauding the charity of $800,000.

Toronto police say Karima Manji was a longstanding employee of the non-profit housing corporation and defrauded March of Dimes through "various means."

Manji was arrested on Wednesday and is now facing the following four charges:

  • Fraud over $5,000
  • Uttering forged document
  • Theft over $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

Police have released her photo because they believe there may be more victims.

Manji is scheduled to appear in court in Toronto on Tuesday, Dec. 22.
