Mila Barberi, 28, was gunned down near Weston Road and Highway 7 on Tuesday afternoon
York Regional Police have recovered the vehicle they believe is connected to the fatal shooting of a young woman Tuesday afternoon in Vaughan.
The dark-coloured Jeep Grand Cherokee was found abandoned Thursday in an industrial area near Islington Avenue and Steeles Avenue West in Toronto.
A "concerned citizen" found the vehicle parked at the side of the road near Garyray Drive and Barmac Drive, police said Friday in a news release.
Investigators took possession of the car and have since determined that it was reported stolen from the Rexdale area on March 13.
"The vehicle will be thoroughly examined for evidence," the news release said. "Anyone who saw this vehicle between March 13 and March 16 or has information on it [is] asked to come forward."

Barberi died in hospital Tuesday after she was shot in an industrial area on Caster Avenue, near Weston Road and Highway 7. Police were called to the area shortly after 4 p.m. for reports of a shooting and found Barberi unresponsive, as well as a male victim suffering from minor injuries. Barberi had recently celebrated her 28th birthday.
Police said they will not identify the second victim beyond saying he is a 40-year-old male.
Police said Friday that they are still looking for their suspect in the case, who they describe as a man standing 6'2" who was wearing a dark jacket and had his face covered.
Investigators thanked members of the public for coming forward with information about the shooting, and said they've interviewed witnesses. However, they are still appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard anything on Caster Avenue at any time around the shooting to come forward, as well as anyone from the area who may have surveillance video footage.
