The CBC's Jamie Strashin reports on why, after random testing was approved in 2011, no employees have been checked at random

TTC management wants to implement random drug tests for its drivers and other employees, but the union is blocking it.

Random drug and alcohol testing was approved for all TTC employees in 2011, but no employees have ever been tested.

The union opposes all drug testing, and so far, has managed to block the random tests amid ongoing arbitration with TTC management.

However, several TTC drivers have tested positive for alcohol or drugs following an incident.

The CBC’s Jamie Strashin has more on this story in the video above.
