Transit riders experienced an "unprecedented" afternoon commute as over a million revelers disperse after the Raptors' NBA championship parade that took over downtown Toronto Monday.

"Please be patient and careful. Our GO Service is running at full capacity," the regional transit agency said Monday afternoon.

Meanwhile, The TTC was forced to close Dundas, Osgoode and Queen stations due to overcrowding at street level, but those have since reopened.

Several bus and streetcar routes were also on temporary detours as the parade makes its way from Exhibition Place to Nathan Phillips Square.

Early estimates suggested about one million revellers were in the streets for the parade, Toronto Supt. Mike Barsky of 52 Division told CBC Toronto early Monday afternoon.
