TTC Riders, which advocates on behalf of customers, calls its campaign "So Efficient it Hurts" and, with tongue firmly in cheek, explains it by saying "Mayor John Tory wants help making the TTC more efficient. We're here to help."
Tory has asked the TTC — which is already grappling with a $172.6 million shortfall — to make cuts to deal with a 2.6 per cent reduction in its subsidy from the city, an amount totalling $15.8 million.
