The Toronto Blue Jays are hosting another playoff game at the dome and that means police will be shutting down roads in the downtown core on Wednesday.

In a news release, police say road closures will be in effect after Game 5 of the American League Divisional Series. The post-season showdown between the Jays and the Texas Rangers is set to begin at 4:07 p.m.

Local police are expecting nearly 50,000 fans to pack into the Rogers Centre, which will have a closed roof today. The following road closures will take effect after the final pitch:

  • Blue Jays Way will have a partial road closure for southbound traffic from Front Street West to Navy Wharf Court.
  • Bremner Boulevard will have a partial road closure for eastbound traffic from Spadina Avenue to Rees Street.
  • Bremner Boulevard will have a full road closure for eastbound traffic from Rees Street to Lower Simcoe Street.
  • Bremner Boulevard will have a full road closure for westbound traffic from Lower Simcoe Street to Navy Wharf Court.

Here's the advice authorities are sharing with the public for getting around the city:

  • Make use of alternate routes.
  • Utilize public transit.
  • Carpool where possible.
  • Avoid the Rogers Centre area, if possible.
  • Be courteous to others while travelling.
  • Give yourself plenty of time.
