Police allege woman lured from Edmonton, forced to work as escort without pay
A Toronto man has been charged in connection with a human trafficking investigation.
Police allege that a 22-year-old Edmonton woman was lured to Toronto with a plane ticket last Friday, picked up by a man and then taken to an apartment in North York where female escorts were working.

"Male clients arrived at the apartment and the man negotiated the price and the sexual acts to be provided by the women," police said in a statement. "The woman was then forced to provide sexual services to the male clients."
Police say the women did not receive any money.
Last Sunday, the woman contacted police, and a 33-year-old man was arrested.
The man, who appeared in court yesterday, has been charged with:
- Trafficking in persons by recruiting
- Financial / material benefit trafficking person over 18
- Material benefit from sexual services
- Procuring
- Advertising another person's sexual services
